Since the Spiral Bevel Gear can contact multiple teeth at the same time, the gear strength is more than the bevel gear. It has a lower sound level compared to the bevel gear. Straight Gear is the most basic and first known gear type commonly used in many industries. Straight gears are designed to transmit motion and power between parallel shafts.
Straight gears are manufactured as steel straight gear, aluminum straight gear, cast straight gear, plastic straight gear according to working conditions. It is used extensively in agricultural machineries, gearboxes and other sectors.
Helical gears outperform straight gears in terms of strength and quiet operation and can operate at higher speeds. Helical gears are generally used in automobile gearbox. The operation of straight gear wheels produces noise along with knocking in motion and force transmission as a result of the tooth surfaces touching each other along a straight line. To prevent this noise and knocking, the gears are made as helical.

The worm and counter gear are used to change the power transmission by 90°. Worm and counter gear are used to greatly reduce the high rotational speed at the inlet at the outlet.
Worm and counter gear operate less quietly and vibrately than other gear types. Since worm gears are used to reduce revolutions, they are especially used in gearboxes.
